The Technical Crew Academy

At the ARTS Technical Crew Academy, we believe in training decision-makers, not just hoist operators and winch medics.

Our courses are built around assessing and developing learners’ non-technical skills (NOTECHS) and human factors (HF), as these are critical elements for operational safety and effectiveness. These principles are embedded into every aspect of technical crew training.

Crew Resource Management and Human Factors Training

All of our Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Human Factors (HF) courses are designed around you, your requirements, and your operation/industry. Based in the UK, we have experience delivering CRM and HF training worldwide and can tailor the courses and content to suit multiple regulatory authorities.

While CRM and HF originate from the aviation industry, they can be used to support and promote a safety culture and safe operations in multiple sectors where human interaction and teamwork are necessary for safe and effective outcomes.

Our trainers have thousands of hours of experience in operational flying from military and civilian Search and Rescue operations, to Helimed and Policing, but have also worked in and with many other industries. Our CRM Foundation Course is designed to introduce aviation professionals to the core principles of Crew Resource Management, as outlined in the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s CAP 737. This course emphasises developing non-technical skills essential for safe and efficient flight operations.
