Who are we?
Air Rescue UK Ltd was formed in 2014 to support the bid for the UK MoD Search & Rescue Contract in the Falkland Islands.
That contract has been live since 31 Mar 2016 with Air Rescue UK delivering 100% against KPI’s for Operational Support with trained and qualified SAR Technical Crew.
Since those early days we have continued to grow supporting operators in Africa, the Mediterranean and further afield.
Having started providing ‘on-wing training’ in 2017 we have developed to being at the forefront of Simulator Training for Helicopter Hoist Operations and other Rear crew skills.
Air Rescue UK has become a group of companies which include Air Rescue Training & Simulation Ltd; Air Rescue Falkland Islands Ltd and in 2025 a Joint Venture with Westair Aviation in Namibia – Air Rescue Africa! 2025 will also bring new developments in the USA!
Where we are?
On the 30 April 2025 Air Rescue UK Ltd moved into a purpose built Office & Training Complex in Harwich, UK.
Sentinel House will provide a headquarters for all of the Air Rescue businesses and a bespoke training centre for ARTS housing state of the art teaching facilities and simulation space as a Bluedrop Simulation Centre.
Sentinel infers high standards, readiness, and safety, aligning with our operations, training and simulation expertise.
Sentinel = Guardian/Protector – A perfect fit for rescue operations and training.
Historically, Harwich, our home base, has been a strategic lookout for naval and air defences, reinforcing the watchful, protective theme.

We will deliver our mission for partners and customers through Support for Operation Delivery; through Training Delivery; through Standardisation; and through Consultancy Projects.
We create relationships and partnerships beyond a pure transactional, one off, service.
We do not have ‘off the shelf’ solutions for operations or training because no two operations have the same requirements and no two Operators have the exact same training needs.
We work with Operators to provide the solution that meets their needs and requirements as an Operator.
Our partners have to meet not only their own but also regulatory requirements and have to show that they continue to meet those requirements to a safe and competent standard.
Our depth of experience in Helicopter Operations and a solid understanding of Regulatory Frameworks allows us to develop ‘tailor made’ solutions to create long-term partnerships and relationships.
