Recently, we were honoured to host a very special visit at Sentinel House.
We welcomed Di Bush – the first woman appointed as a full-time lifeboat coxswain in the RNLI’s 200-year history – along with her partner, Ian.
Successful rescues depend on seamless coordination between air and sea, and it was a privilege to spend the morning together exploring how we can continue to work side by side.
During their visit, we were able to:
- Share expertise – Di and Ian experienced the airborne perspective of a rescue in the Bluedrop Training & Simulation Hoist Mission Training System (HMTS).
- Get hands-on – They took to the bespoke , in-house designed, hoist tower for practical experience with our hoist equipment.
- Strengthen collaboration – We discussed how our organisations can continue to support one another in our shared mission of saving lives at sea.
