This week marked an exciting milestone as we officially kicked off our Technical Crew Trainer Course, welcoming four internal staff members into an intensive instructor development program.
By selecting candidates from within our own ranks, we are directly investing in the future of our team. This program bridges frontline operational experience with world-class instructional skills, ensuring our high standards continue to be driven by those who know the mission best.
A core highlight of the week was immersing the candidates in the specialised world of aviation instruction utilising our state-of-the-art HMTS (Hoist Mission Training System).
The HMTS is a game-changer for our training capabilities. It allows us to:
- Simulate complex, high-risk operational scenarios in a safe, controlled environment.
- Practice precise instructional techniques and real-time student assessment.
- Bridge the gap between theoretical classroom learning and high-pressure aviation reality.
This course is just the first step in a comprehensive, long-term development pathway. Over the coming months, our candidates will complete a formal qualification in Adult Education & Training alongside an internal mentorship process, ultimately qualifying as certified SAR Technical Crew Trainers later this year.
